Questions
and Answers
Q: It says
"Connection Timed out" when I try to send or receive email
A: Usually
this is because your internet connection is not up. Try another internet
application and see if it works. If it does you need to check your server
settings in Eudora.
In
Eudora, click on Tools > Options (or Special > Settings).
Go to
the top category, "Getting Started" and verify your Pop
Account is username@eagle.ca.
Select
the "Hosts" category and ensure the SMTP server is
smtp.eagle.ca.
Select
the "Checking Mail" category and make sure "Authentication
Style" is set to passwords.
Go to
the bottom category of "Advanced Network" and set the network
timeout setting to 45 seconds. Make the Network Buffer Size
4096 bytes. Click on the Cache network info box.
Q: Eudora
keeps saying my password is wrong.
A: It
is wrong! Verify that your pop account is correct. If it is check to see
if your Caps Lock light is on. Your password is case sensitive and needs
to be entered in all lower case
Q: How can
I get Eudora to remember my Password?
A: Click
on Tools >
Options > Checking Mail (or Special > Settings > Checking
Mail). Click "Save Password" The next time you check
for mail and enter your password Eudora will remember it.
Q: Eudora
says "There has been an error... I said DATA... need RCPT"
A: There's
a problem with the email address you are sending to. Go double check that
the address is in the form "username@host.ext" If that still
looks good to you, click on Mailboxes > Out and locate
the message. It will probably have a "Q" in the left margin
which means the message has been placed in the queue for sending. It's
very possible this message is being sent over and over and this is the one
causing the problem. Delete it from the OUT box and try composing a
fresh message.
If you
have tried setting up some "Nicknames" it's very possible that
your Nickname has been incorrectly setup.

Configuration page.
