eagle.ca eMail changes • Outlook Express
Failure to make these changes may prevent you from retrieving and/or sending email.

We are implementing an email process called Authenticated SMTP. This requires you to provide your user name and password each time you send email. There are two primary benefits:
1 - eagleMembers with computers that have become infected with a virus or worm will not be able to send spam and infected messages.
2 - eagleMembers who travel with their notebook computers will be able to send email through eagle.ca servers instead of changing their email setup with every new location they stay at.

NOTE...

  • If you retrieve your email from POP3 servers named eagle.ca or mail.eagle.ca you will be changing the POP3 server name to pop3.eagle.ca
  • If you retrieve your email from mail2.eagle.ca you will not change the POP3 server name
  • ALL users who have ANY eagle.ca server as their Outgoing SMTP server will change  the server name to smtp.eagle.ca
  • If you use an in-house corporate mail server or another provider's server for either Incoming or Outgoing email, you will not make these changes
